The Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatment solutions in Endourology (endoscopic surgery), Laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) and Robotic Surgery for patients with urologic disease; advancing scientific technology through research activity and providing clinical training opportunities in the field of minimal access surgery. Our goal is to help each patient find the optimal treatment option which fits their individual clinical needs and to deliver this treatment with the help of our experienced team of surgeons.

We are focused upon the utilization of minimally invasive technologies designed to accomplish urologic operative procedures with minimal trauma and shortened recovery while meeting or exceeding the standards of traditional open surgery. These treatments have evolved over the past 25 years with the introduction of percutaneous kidney stone removal and ureteroscopy (telescope surgery through the urethra and up the ureter to the kidney). These advances have led to current techniques including laparoscopic surgery (telescope surgery into the body cavity), robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery, cryosurgery (freezing tissues to destroy tumors in the kidney and the prostate).
